Rev. Terry
Keenan is not only senior minister for The Santa Anita Church, but
is a chaplain for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He
is a graduate of The Santa Anita Church Ministerial School. He completed
the Holmes College Ministerial program at Founders Church of Religious
Science. His professional memberships include the Association for
Global New Thought (AGNT), the International New Thought Association
(INTA), and the Arcadia Interfaith Action Group (AIAG). Terry is also
on the Board of Trustees of the Foothill Unity Center in Monrovia.
Formerly a staff minister and the youth minister, he has been the
senior minister at The Santa Anita Church since 2001.
History
A retired
deputy with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department and a polished public
speaker, Reverend Keenan has traveled extensively throughout the state
of California presenting courtroom security-awareness seminars as
well as numerous other classes. He has also been an announcer for
radio stations KLAS and KENO in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as KMPC
in Los Angeles. He is the spokesperson in countywide recruitment commercials
for the Sheriff's Department and narrated and appeared in a series
of videos on terrorist activities made by the L.A. Police Department,
Sheriff's Department and the F.B.I.
Family
Since 1963,
Terry has been master of ceremonies for the Miss El Monte/South El
Monte Pageant. In 1964, a fifteen-year-old in the audience turned
to her girlfriend and said, "I'm going to marry that man."
Three years later, Terry crowned that same girl Miss El Monte/South
El Monte of 1967. In 1972 they married and now have a beautiful daughter,
Gina, son-in-law and former Board Vice President Mike, and three grandsons Joey, Connor, and Lucas.
